I have to admit being puzzled for years by a simple question: why are tech companies either blue or red?

If you think, blue tech companies abound. IBM, Dell, Netapp, EMC, HP fit the bill. And then there are red tech companies, Oracle, AMI, Hitachi, they all spring to mind.

It turns out there’s possible a good reason for this. Science Daily reported on a study which demonstrated that colors have effects on decision-making and buying. Basically, red stimulates vigilence and detail-checking, while blue stimulated broad-brush, positive, creative thinking.
